You have to spend money to make money — andLisa Vanderpumpneeds Tom Schwartz to pay up.
On Monday’s episode ofVanderpump Rules, the Beverly Hills-based restauranteur’s latest venture, West Hollywood bar Tom Tom, is thriving. And while her employee-turned-partnerTom Sandovalpaid for his percentage of the business, she reveals that she was unable to depositTom Schwartz‘s check.
“What constitutes a partner exactly? What makes somebody worthy of being a partner?” she asks the boys.
“Attitude, first and foremost. Commitment. Professionalism and dedication,” Schwartz, 36, rattles off.
“But where does it start? Investment, right,” Vanderpump coaxes. “Uh, your check. Yeah. They both bounced.”
“Yours went through,” she tells Sandoval, 35, before turning to Schwartz: “Yours bounced.”

Schwartz is left stammering. “That account is not active anymore,” he says. “I wrote that check — ”
“Well, you could have told me that before I went to cash it,” Vanderpump, 58, insists.
He blames it on a “technicality.”

“I don’t even trust you. Do you not really have the money? Did you spend it in Mexico?” she asks as he laughs sheepishly. “It’s not funny. How do I know you have the money?”
“Pinky swear?” he offers.
In a confessional, theBravo Housewifeis far from amused.
“Having your little boyish mannerisms is kind of cute. But when it comes to business and bouncing a check, cuteness doesn’t work,” she says.
And footage from a week prior proves that she did give the Toms a heads-up that she’d be cashing their checks.
“Then we’re done,” she says, walking away.
Sandoval is stunned. “When you’re partnering with somebody and the money doesn’t come though, that’s a bad look. This isn’t good,” he tells the camera, before ribbing his BFF.
“I don’t think you can Venmo 50 grand, dude,” he jokes.
Of course, it seems like the finances worked out in the end. Business has been booming at Tom Tom since it opened last summer, and the hot spot has bustled withcelebrity patronslikeLady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Darren Criss and John Legend and Chrissy Teigen (who recreated the Toms’ iconic kiss in front of the framed print inside the restaurant).
