When a face-to-face conversation won’t cut it for chore requests,Reese Witherspoonspeaks in her kids’ language: social media.
The actress, Draper James co-founder and mother of three leveraged a clever technique to get a message across to her children, which she took to Instagram to show off on Thursday.
Featuring a cute Snapchat giraffe filter, Witherspoon’sselfie hilariously readacross the bottom, “Go clean your dirty room” — likely addressing her two older kidsDeacon Reese, 15, andAva Elizabeth, 19.

Witherspoon, 42, joked about her teenagers’ preferred method of communication in October 2016, tellingJenna Bush Hagerduring an interview for theTodayshow that “they will Snapchat me back, but they will not call me back.”
To their credit, it’s possible Deacon, Ava and their little brotherTennessee James, 6, just have a hard time decoding their mom’s southern-isms in person.
“My kids do this whole thing where they make fun of me because I’ll say, ‘He did do, but he didn’t done do. He done did that,’ ” theSweet Home Alabamastar — who was born in New Orleans and raised in Nashville, Tennessee — told Hager in the same interview.
“They’ll be like, ‘What? Why are you [saying], “Did done?” ‘ ” she continued. “My little 4-year-old will be like, ‘He did done do!’ They think it’s hysterical. They don’t understand what I’m saying.”
