Despite questions about his health, Jackson was preparing for a comeback tour in 2009when he died on June 25at the age of 50. He suffered cardiac arrest at home. In 2011, his doctor Conrad Murray wasconvicted ofinvoluntary manslaughter in his death. Throughout the six-week trial, prosecutors portrayed Murray as a reckless doctor who treated Jackson’s insomnia with a nightly drip of propofol, an unpredictable and potentially fatal anesthetic.
