In thefirst trailerfor the forthcoming STARZ psychodramaMary & George, Moore plays Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham, who is “molding her beautiful son” to seduce a king in 17th century England.
“Give the King whatever he wants,” Moore’s Mary tells George (Red, White & Royal Blue’sNicholas Galitzine). “He will be yours, mine, ours.”
‘I have the power. I have the King, I have England,” declares George. “What could possibly stop us now?” adds Moore.

Based on Benjamin Woolley’s nonfiction bookThe King’s Assassin, Mary & Georgeis set to premieres April 5.
The summary continues, “Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become one of the richest, most titled and influential players the English court had ever seen, and the King’s most trusted advisors.”
The series also stars Tony Curran as King James I alongside Nicola Walker, Niamh Algar and Sean Gilder.
