Jajahisn’t the first VoIP app for the iPhone / iPod contact , but it ’s the first that let ’s yousend / receive SMS messagesover wi - fi . I engender a brief look at it , and so far , so undecomposed .

antecedently , the JaJah app for the iPhone was used as a jobber to connect mass on VoIP to your cellphone , but it still required a mobile programme , and used min . Now , the Jajah app work entirely over wi - fi , mean you may use the iPod touch , and make calls without a peregrine plan . It also works on the iPhone , but wo n’t operate over 3 G or EDGE , because then AT&T would n’t make any money .

The strength of this Jajah app is simplicity , and that is a right matter . It does n’t essay to bring with a million different communication table service ( such as Fring or IM+ ) , and it sustain much of Mobile OS X ’s design desoxyribonucleic acid . This makes the app super easy to utilise .
Placing a call is as simple as selecting a link from your inclination , or bring up the dialpad and entering a number . Similarly , sending a text over IP ( ready to hand for international SMS ) reckon like it ’s jolly much the same as sending a normal SMS , except that you ’re inside the JaJah app . I got to see the UI for sending an SMS , but because the service is n’t set up yet , I did nt get to see it go through .
As for call quality , voices sounds a tad on the punk side , but not to the extent that I would say it ’s bad quality . There ’s also a few seconds of lag while the data passes through JaJah ’s servers , yet that ’s no huge surprisal either .

The nerveless affair is that JaJah would like to work with Mobile Carriers on branded solutions , and expect aircraft carrier to offer compressed rate VoIP service using the JaJah technology . This means you would n’t need to corrupt moment , you ’d just pay one dollar amount every month for unlimited employment . In any case , VoIP junkies should count at JaJah when it comes out in a few week .
