Almost a class ago , Ifell in making love with the Alice for iPad app . I declared it the cleverest iPad book yet and blithely recommended to protagonist . Now I get to recommend its silly sequel , Alice in New York .

Now before you yell at me for commend yet another nine dollar iPad app , you must understand that I have a major weakness for Alice in Wonderland , silly popup books , and modern whirl on classic .

This little app takes advantage of all three of those weaknesses by being a goofy modern take on the classic Alice Through The Looking Glass book . It put all the characters into present daytime New York — Tweedledum and Tweedledee are taxi drivers , Humpty Dumpty is a construction worker , and so on — and it looks fantastic .

To me , the nine dollar monetary value tag is worth it for the beautiful illustrations and laughable interactive elements — and a regular shaver ’s popup book will cost you just as much if not more .
