Cameron Turner— who built a following on YouTube with their channel Cam&Fam — gave fans a glimpse into their current life.

“My name is Camryn, and it’s spelled C-A-M-R-Y-N. That’s the name I was given, have had it my whole life. People started calling me Cam around the time that I started doing social media, ‘cause I named my channel Cam&Fam, even though no one ever called me Cam before. Never really been a nickname king of guy,” they shared.

While the creator said the change initially felt like “such a dumb little thing,” they ultimately decided it “mattered enough” to them to make the change. Turner also changed their middle name from Leigh to Owen.

“I think if I were to change my first name to anything, the only other thing I could imagine being called other than Cameron is Owen,” they continued. “I like Cameron enough, and it feels like my name enough, and it feels masculine enough that I don’t see the need to change my first name altogether to a completely new name. But as far as my middle name, I want it to be Owen.”

In addition to sharing about their intention to grow out their hair, Turner also stated that their top surgery has been booked and scheduled for Aug. 1. They detailed how they’ve already put down a deposit for the operation and paid for half, and now they have five months to save up for the remaining costs.

“Now it’s just a matter of waiting till August, which feels really far, but I’ve been patient this far, and I think it could be worse,” Turner concluded. “It’s nice to know that that’s like guaranteed to happen, and I have a date on the calendar and something to look forward to.”

Ina previous video, the TikToker shared how the chest reconstruction surgery was originally planned for January, however, it was postponed due to an insurance conflict.

“Apparently, they had approved the surgery to happen for last year, and because it’s a new calendar year, that’s no longer the case. That’s no longer what they’re agreeing to,” Turner said in their TikTok. “As of this year, 2025, they’re no longer covering transgender operations. They no longer see it as medically necessary, which was just really devastating for me.”

In the recent video, Turner said they’re now paying for the operation on their own, without any insurance aid.

The social media star opened up about their gender identity last year, clarifying in an August videothat they identify as “trans-masculine and non-binary.” In a YouTube video posted this January, Turner also shared that their kids still refer to them as “Mama.”

“That’s what they’ve called since they were babies. I don’t think it’s something that I want to ask them to change,” they said. “I could see one day them calling me Dad instead of Mama, just kind of as they get older, but as of right now I just see it as their nickname for me. It doesn’t have this weight of being like a gendered term.”

Turner shares both kids with theirlate husband, Landon, who died at age 19in August 2020 due to a brain injury. He spent six days in a coma before he died, per an Instagram postannouncing the newson the Cam&Fam account.

At the time, Turner also shared that Landon “donated several organs to people in need all over the country,” with Turner adding, “He died saving the lives of others.”

The grieving spouse continued, “That’s the type of person he was. Compassionate, loving, thoughtful, kind, and gentle. He was an amazing husband and the best father those girls could [have] ever asked for. It saddens me deeply that they will never get to truly know him. He was so young and had so much more life to live. This isn’t how things were supposed to go.”
